Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and Our Heritage

I married an Irishman and it’s always been his dream to go to Ireland. So last year we finally made it. We toured mostly Northern Ireland, which was as fascinating as it was lovely. We found the Irish people to be generous, friendly, and very funny.

One of the highlights of our trip to Ireland was going to a tiny pub in the middle of nowhere and spending an evening with Enya’s father, Leo Brennan, as he entertained the audience singing and playing several instruments. He is in his 80s and still entertains 7 nights a week!

Rod’s family are Connollys. My family is Scottish but I did have a great, great grandmother who came over from Ireland. Her name was Jenny Noonan.

So this year, St. Patrick’s Day meant more to us. We donned are Irish regalia and were happy to share fun and laughter with our friends the O’Connors (Irish possibly?) and the Feldmanns (not). :)

Friends, family, fun…. could it get any better?

If you are interested in seeing some of my images of Ireland, please visit J. Love Photography’s website by clicking on the link below. There are cliffs and a castle of Northern Ireland thereas well as images from other places we’ve been like Italy and the Caribbean.

I also have a photographic diary of the entire trip on another site I’d be happy to share with you if you’d like to email me personally. I can redirect you there. In the meantime, enjoy a few images of Northern Ireland here: http://www.jlovephotography.com/index2.php?v=v2#/rgallery/4/
